Message from your Box Tops Coordinator!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all the wonderful students, parents and teachers that continue to make the Box Tops program successful here at Manning Oaks. Despite the fact that we lost a lot of students with the recent redistricting effort, our earnings for the 2009-2010 school year ($1341.31) are still higher than they were for the 2009-2009 school year (1261.00). Even though the year is not yet over, our last submission deadline for this school year will be processed this month.

I would also like to congratulation Ms. Kivenen's class who earned a Pizza Party for turning in over 1500 Box Tops during our last contest. Ms. Kivinen also won lunch from Mittie's restaurant, delivered to the school.

With budget funding for schools on the rise, the Box Tops program is a great way resource to tap into for funding programs that may experience severe cuts. Although our Box Tops program at Manning Oaks is profitable, there are currently only about 20% of students that currently take part in the program. The maximum earnings we can receive from General Mills Box Tops in any calendar year is $20,000. While $1341in earnings is wonderful, we are barely scratching the surface of what is possible!

I hope that the passion for Box Tops at Manning Oaks will continue to grow and we can become one of the Top Ten Box Tops earning schools in the state! Once again, that would go a long way in helping to fund programs that could receive budget cuts.

Boys Vs. Girls Contest Update!

It's official! Girls have taken the lead

in the Boys vs. Girls Box Tops contest.

Girls now lead boys with

3032 Box Tops vs. 2588!

Girls, if you want to hold on to that lead, keep those Box Tops coming in. Boys, if you want to get back in first place you do the same. Boys and girls, get creative and see if grandparents, friends and neighbors can collect Box Tops. Parents, send me an email if you would like a shoe box sized collection box for your workplace.

Ms. Corin's class is leading in participation and don't forget the first class to have everyone turn in Box Tops will earn a fabulous Popsicle party. To make it even easier, each student just needs to ten in AT LEAST TEN BOX TOPS! That's right, the first class to have each student turn in at least ten Box Tops will win the Popsicle party. The teacher of the winning class will also receive a delicious lunch from Mittie's restaurant delivered to the school! Teachers don't forget to remind your students to turn in Box Tops so you can win the gourmet lunch!

The top contributing boy and girl in each grade will be entered in a drawing to win their choice of a Webkinz, or two tickets to AMC theaters. Also, the top three Box Tops contributors will earn a gift card to Target for $25, $15 or $10.

There are so many ways to win so keep those Box Tops coming in! If your not collecting it's never to late to start. There are hundreds of products at your local grocery store that carry Box Tops. You can even print out a list of products that carry Box Tops by clicking on the link over to the right.

Boys vs. Girls Contest Kicks Off

Our new contest is so fun and exciting that it is

sure to be a blast!

It's a BOYS VS. GIRLS CONTEST!
The first group to reach 10,000 Box Tops will win!If boys win, they will get bragging rights and a special day to celebrate their victory by wearing brown/green or camo from head to toe including hats! If girls win, they will get bragging rights and a special day to wear pink/purple or tye-dye from head to toe including hats!
Also, If your class is the first class to have every student turn in a full collection sheet (or baggie) like the one printed on the back of this flier, your entire class will be treated to an ice cream party!
But wait there's more! The teacher whose class is the first to have every student turn in a collection sheet will be treated to a lunch of their choice from

Mittie's Cafe that I will personally deliver to them at MOE! And if that isn't enough, the top contributing girl and boy in each class will be entered for a drawing to win their choice of a Webkinz or two tickets to AMC Theaters!

Olympic Contest Final Results

Well the final results are in. Thanks to everyone for making this our most successful Box Tops Contest ever. MOE earned $856 in this contest alone. And now a drum roll for the winners. Ms. Kivenen's class came in first place with 856 Box Tops. Ms. Revels class was in second place with 703 Box Tops and Ms. Brewer's class came in third place with 497 Box Tops. Ms. Kivinen's class will enjoy a Popsicle party and receive Gold Medals. Ms. Revels class will enjoy a Cookies and Milk party and Silver Medals. Ms. Brewer's class will receive Box Tops goodie bags and bronze medals.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this contest. As a reminder, at the end of the school year, the top three Box Tops contributing students will receive gift cards to Target for $25, $15 and $10 respectively.

Olympic Contest Update as of 9/26/08

Our Box Tops Olympic Contest is going great! Since the last update, Ms. Kivenen's class has blasted into first place with 815 Box Tops! Currently Ms. Mullis's class is in second place with 301 Box Tops and right on their heels in third place is Ms. Brewer's class with 287 Box Tops. There is still time to get your class in the lead. The contest ends on October 28th so send in those Box Tops today. Out of 900+ students at Manning Oaks, only about 10% are currently submitting Box Tops. Imagine how much Manning Oaks would earn if every student participated. It would be off the charts! If you're not sure which products carry the official Box Tops coupons, just click on the link to print out a list of participating products. Thanks to all you parents, students and teachers that are taking part in the Box Tops program. It's never too late to start. Please join me in making this our best Box Tops year ever!

Let's get Manning Oaks on this list

I am so glad that you stopped by to visit. Look around the website and you will find lots of great information about Box Tops. Click on the link above and you will see the top ten Box Tops earning schools in the state of Georgia. Manning Oaks earned $1367.70 last year and I think we can blow that record out of the water. If you have been watching the Olympics, you probably saw a lot of records getting broken. To break a record requires commitment, determination and passion. It pays to be passionate about Box Tops, just ask any of the schools on that list.

There are lots of ways we can work towards breaking our record. In addition to clipping Box Tops, ask grandparents or neighbors without kids if they will collect Box Tops for you. Box Tops are found on so many products that almost everyone would find Box Tops in their home if they took jsut a few moments to look. Parents, maybe you can ask your boss if you can leave a shoe-box sized container at your workplace that says "Help support Manning Oaks Elementary". Does your neighborhood have a newsletter? Maybe you can advertize that you are collecting Box Tops and would gladly accept any Box Top donations. If you get creative, there are lots of ways you can collect Box Tops. Remember, each Box Top is worth ten cents to our school and that adds up FAST! When you are grocery shopping,look for brands that carry the Box Tops logo. New products are added regularly. Olympic Contest Update as of 9/14/18

Our Olympic Box Tops contest is off to a great start! In the first week of the contest, over 1800 Box Tops were turned in. Thank you so much to everyone who has submitted Box Tops so far. The class that turns in the most Box Tops during this contest will win Gold Medals, a Popsicle party and goodie bag. The class in second place will win Silver medals, and a cookies and milk party. The class in third place will win Bronze Medals and a goodie bag. Right now Ms. Mullis' class is in the lead with 290 Box Tops. In a very close second place is Ms. Kivenen's class with 280 Box Tops. The class that is currently in third place is Ms. Brewer's class with 204 Box Tops. The contest deadline is October 28th so there is still time to Go for the Gold and get your class in the lead!

You may have noticed the new Box Tops collection cubby outside the cafeteria. This cubby is easy for the kids to reach and has lots of space to accommodate collection sheets and baggies. If your not currently clipping, it's never to late to start. Box Tops can be found on so many products that you use in your home every day. Click on the link to the right to print out more collection sheets or if you would like a complete list of participating Box Tops products. If you have submitted over 50 or 100 Box Tops, you will see your name in our Super Star Contributor corner on the top of this page. Don't forget that at the end of the year, our top three individual Box Tops Contributors will win Target Gift Certificates for $25, $15 or $10 as well as a cool Box Tops T-shirt.

Box Tops Poem Entry

Box Tops is having a poem contest to find the Coordinator who is the most passionate about Box Tops! Well, I think I am definitely passionate about Box Tops and hopefully this poem will prove it. The Coordinator who submits the winning poem receives 10,000 Box Tops for their school. That's a thousand dollars! The contest results will be out in late September so I will keep you posted.

Collecting Box Tops is so fun
Our school earns money, we make a ton

Just clip the Box Tops from items galore
You'll find Box Tops throughout the store

On cereals, on brownies, on pastas and snacks
They're even on diapers, imagine that!

Each Box Top is worth a dime
Sometimes double or triple which is mightyfine

It's Hip to Clip is what I say
So clip those Box Tops every day

Then send them to school in a baggie so neat

Think outside the box for Box Tops!

It's hard not to get excited when you realize how easy it is to earn cash for our school with the Box Tops program. Box Tops are now on hundreds of commonly used products. Go on a hunt in your pantry and you will be amazed at the number of products that carry the Box Tops logo. In addition to clipping Box Tops at home, don't be shy about asking grandparents, aunts and uncles or even co-workers if they will collect Box Tops for you. Maybe your boss would allow you to decorate a shoe box with the Box Tops logo and a caption that reads "Your Box Tops can help support Manning Oaks Elementary". If you ask, you'll find that there are lots of people that would love to donate their Box Tops to help support MOE. Get creative and see how many people you can get to save their Box Tops for you!

Did you know that since the program began 11 years ago, schools in the United States have earned over $200 million from the Box Tops Program?

Last year, the top Box Tops earning school in the U.S was Red Bird Mission School in Beverly, Kentucky with earnings of $27,574. The top Box Tops earning school in Georgia was Peebles Elementary in Fayetteville with earnings of $5,550. It takes involvement from students, parents and teachers alike to achieve earnings like that but I believe we can make MOE a top earning school as well.

Each Box top that is clipped earns ten cents for our school. That adds up fast! Clipping Box Tops benefits students and faculty alike! You can submit your Box Tops using a sandwich baggie or envelope or try some of the handy collection sheets. Don't forget to put your childs name, grade and teacher on the baggie, envelope or collection sheet.

Guidelines for submitting Box Tops!

I am often asked questions about submitting Box Tops so I thought I would post a few general guidelines:

*Box tops don't have to be trimmed exactly but keep in mind that for cost saving purposes we want to make our package as light as possible to avoid high shipping costs. So, don't fret about being exact but try not to send in the whole top of the cereal box :)

*Box Tops can be sent in any sort of envelope or clear plastic baggie. We don't mind what you send them in really, as long as you mark your childs name and the name of the teacher so they can get credit for contests and prizes!

*There are now collection sheets that you can utilize as well. When it comes time to send Box Tops to General Mills, these collection sheets save us lots of time because they don't require as much counting. Post a collection sheet on your refrigerator and every time you clip a Box Top, use a childs glue stick to attach the Box Top to the collection sheet. In no time, the sheet will be full!
