Fall Contest Update!

The Box Tops are pouring in and so far we have a huge response to our Fall Contest. Check back frequently for updates and keep the Box Tops coming. Don't forget to ask grandparents, aunts and uncles or neighbors that don't have kids to save Box Tops for you. There are so many products that carry Box Tops and many people that use these products, no longer have school age children to donate their Box Tops to. Many people would be glad to save Box Tops for you if you ask them so get creative! Remember the person that turns in the most Box Tops gets a $25 gift certificate to Target.

Pictured above is Regan Swift from Mrs. Strickland's class. Regan turned in the most Box Tops during the first week of the contest. Regan won a goody bag filled with fun items from Box Tops. You could be the next weekly winner so send in those Box Tops today. All Box Tops are cumulative so if you send some in this week and more next week, the total number of all your submissions do get added together for contest purposes.

Fall Box Tops Contest

It's time to gather up all those Box Tops for our super Fall Contest. Three prizes will be awarded to make it the most exciting contest ever. A $25 Target gift certificate will be awarded to the student who turns in the most Box Tops! The class that turns in them most Box Tops earn a Popsicle Party with lots of yummy popsicles to choose from.

Each week during the contest, the student that turns in the most Box Tops will also get a special prize. Because Teachers play a huge role in the success of the Box Tops program, the winning class will also get to vote on a special prize for their very special teacher. If you have a fabulous teacher and you would like to see him or her earn a fabulous prize then bring in those Box Tops to increase their chance of winning. The winning class will get to vote on the following three prizes for their teacher.

* A movie night for two plus drinks and popcorn!
* An hourlong massage!
* Dinner for two at a local restaurant

Don't forget, the contest deadline is October 26th so bring those Box Tops in today for your chance to win!

It's hard not to get excited when you realize how easy it is to earn cash for our school with the Box Tops program. Box Tops are now on hundreds of commonly used products. Go on a hunt in your pantry and you will be amazed at the number of products that carry the Box Tops logo. Let"s Make it a Great Year for Box Tops at Manning Oaks!

Did you know that since the program began 11 years ago, schools in the United States have earned over $200 million from the Box Tops Program?

Last year, the top Box Tops earning school in the U.S was Red Bird Mission School in Beverly, Kentucky with earnings of $27,574. The top Box Tops earning school in Georgia was Peebles Elementary in Fayetteville with earnings of $5,550. It takes involvement from students, parents and teachers alike to achieve earnings like that but I believe we can make MOE a top earning school as well.

Each Box top that is clipped earns ten cents for our school. That adds up fast! Clipping Box Tops benefits students and faculty alike! You can submit your Box Tops using a sandwich baggie or envelope or try some of the handy collection sheets. You can find lots of great collection sheets at the Box Tops website by going to the following web address www.boxtops4education.com/activitycenter. Don't forget to put your childs name, grade and teacher on the baggie, envelope or collection sheet.

Guidelines for submitting Box Tops!

I am often asked questions about submitting Box Tops so I thought I would post a few general guidelines:

*Box tops don't have to be trimmed exactly but keep in mind that for cost saving purposes we want to make our package as light as possible to avoid high shipping costs. So, don't fret about being exact but try not to send in the whole top of the cereal box :)

*Box Tops can be sent in any sort of envelope or clear plastic baggie. We don't mind what you send them in really, as long as you mark your childs name and the name of the teacher so they can get credit for contests and prizes!

*There are now collection sheets that you can utilize as well. When it comes time to send Box Tops to General Mills, these collection sheets save us lots of time because they don't require as much counting. Post a collection sheet on your refrigerator and every time you clip a Box Top, use a childs glue stick to attach the Box Top to the collection sheet. In no time, the sheet will be full!
